Less than two months after it's theatrical release in February 2022, "Death on the Nile" is now available to watch at home. Like other recent releases from 20th Century Studios, the movie is streaming on Hulu and HBO Max at the same time. 

"Death on the Nile" is a sequel to 2017's "Murder on the Orient Express." Both movies are directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also stars as detective Hercule Poirot. The film takes place on a cruise ship traveling down the Nile river in 1937. When a murder takes place on the ship, Poirot must investigate and find the culprit.

In addition to Branagh, the movie stars Gal Gadot, Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright. 

Despite being labeled a box office disappointment, "Death on the Nile" holds a 63% Fresh rating from review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. It's also been reported that another Poirot film is in the works, as well as other Christie adaptations.  

How to watch 'Death on the Nile'

You can watch "Death on the Nile" at home on HBO Max and Hulu. The movie is also available to buy for $20 from video-on-demand retailers like Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Apple TV.

Currently, the cheapest way to stream "Death on the Nile" is through Hulu. Hulu's ad-supported plan costs $7 a month, while the ad-free plan costs $13 a month. Users on both plans can watch "Death on the Nile."

Meanwhile, HBO Max starts at $10 a month for ad-supported access to the service's entire streaming library. For $15 a month, you can upgrade to the ad-free plan, which also includes the ability to download content for offline viewing, and adds support for streaming select titles in 4K. However, "Death on the Nile" is only available in HD (1080p) on HBO Max

Can I watch 'Death on the Nile' in 4K?

"Death on the Nile" is limited to HD (1080p) quality on Hulu and HBO Max, but the film is available in up to 4K with high dynamic range (HDR) and Dolby Atmos audio when you buy it through select digital retailers like Vudu and Apple TV.

Where to watch 'Murder on the Orient Express'

If you want to catch up on "Murder on the Orient Express," the the first movie in Kenneth Branagh's Hercule Poirot movie series, you have a few different options. 

You can rent "Murder on the Orient Express" from Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Apple TV for $4. If you prefer to buy the movie, it costs $15. Those retailers are also offering a bundle where you can purchase both "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Death on the Nile" for $30.

Additionally, traditional cable subscribers who have the FX Network included in their TV package can stream 'Murder on the Orient Express' for no additional cost through FX's website. You just need to sign in with your pay-TV account information.

"Murder on the Orient Express" was released in 2017. Like "Death on the Nile," the movie has a large ensemble cast, which includes Tom Bateman, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley.
